Porthleven is around 3 miles east along the coast - a working harbour with a good selection of independent restaurants along the quayside, including a Rick Stein outlet. The village has a bakery, a butcher, and a cluster of art galleries above the harbour. It is worth an evening visit at high tide when the harbour fills. St Michael's Mount is around 10 minutes east by car, near Marazion.

Ideal for couples or solo guests travelling with a dog who want direct beach access and a garden - the 600m walk to Praa Sands and the BBQ make it a practical summer choice. Not great for anyone needing cooking appliances beyond the basics, given no dishwasher or washing machine, or for those wanting a longer stay with full laundry facilities.
