Longview Cottage

Longview Cottage is a one-bedroom cottage in Penwithick, a village on the southern edge of the mid-Cornwall plateau between St Austell and Bodmin Moor. It sleeps 2 with one bathroom. Off-road parking and an EV charging point make it practical for electric car owners arriving without a full charge.

The interior is compact but complete: wifi, washing machine, and a private garden for outdoor space. There is no dishwasher. The layout suits a couple wanting a low-cost inland base rather than the premium pricing of coastal villages in peak season - a useful trade-off if your itinerary is mostly driving rather than walking to the beach.

Carlyon Bay beach is 2.9 miles south, a wide sandy bay with a seasonal café and lifeguard cover. Charlestown, a Georgian harbour village used as a filming location for *Poldark* and multiple BBC productions, is a similar 3 miles. Closer to the cottage, the Luxulyan Valley - part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site - has a 19th-century granite viaduct and Victorian water-wheel leats that are worth an afternoon on foot. The Eden Project is roughly 8 miles east via the A391.

Best for couples who want a mid-Cornwall base with EV charging and easy access to both coast and heritage sites. Less good for those who need sea views or coastal walks from the door. One well-behaved pet is welcome.
