Nana's Cottage is an all-ground-floor barn conversion on the Clowance estate near Praze-an-Beeble in West Cornwall, sleeping 4 in 2 bedrooms. Part of a converted agricultural complex, the open-plan layout keeps all living space on one level, which suits guests with limited mobility.

The living area combines kitchen, dining and sitting room with a woodburning stove at the centre. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite walk-in shower; the second bedroom has twin beds convertible to a king. The kitchen has an induction hob, dual-zone fan-assisted oven, coffee machine, and dishwasher. Outside, parking fits 4-5 cars and a lawned garden leads to a decked terrace with glass balustrade.

Gwithian Towans is 5.4 miles north - a long dune-backed surf beach on St Ives Bay. Praa Sands on the Mounts Bay south coast is also 5.4 miles, giving access to both coastlines in roughly equal time. Porthleven is within 15 minutes by car. Praze-an-Beeble has a pub and post office within a mile; Camborne is close for supermarkets.

Best for: pairs or small families who want a quiet countryside base with easy reach of both north and south coast beaches, or guests who benefit from a single-level property. Less good for: those wanting a coastal village setting or walking distance to the sea.
