Oleaster

Oleaster is a 4-bedroom lodge in Rock sleeping 8, positioned on a corner plot just off Rock Road with a large enclosed garden. The lodge is rated 8-star and meets accessible standards, making it one of the more practical large-group options in this part of north Cornwall.

The layout runs to 2 king-size bedrooms, 1 double, and 1 twin across 2 bathrooms. Ground-floor accessibility is built in. The garden has a patio for outdoor dining and a BBQ, plus an outdoor shower - useful after beach days. Inside, wifi, parking for multiple vehicles, a dishwasher, and a washing machine are all included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

Daymer Bay beach is about 1.4 miles south - a sheltered estuary beach with calm, shallow water and year-round dog access. For surf, Polzeath is about 2 miles north with a reliable beach break and surf schools on the sand. The water taxi from Rock to Padstow runs every 20 minutes and puts Rick Stein's restaurants and the harbour within easy reach without needing to drive. St Enodoc Golf Club, where John Betjeman is buried in the dunes church, is roughly 1.5 miles south. The Camel Trail cycling route picks up at Wadebridge, 4 miles away.

**Best for:** Families or groups of up to 8, dog owners, those with accessibility requirements, and anyone wanting the Padstow area without the Padstow prices.

**Less good for:** Couples or pairs looking for a smaller, more intimate space - the lodge is sized for groups, and pricing reflects that.
