Puffin Lodge

Puffin Lodge is a two-bedroom timber lodge at Trewetha Farm, just outside Port Isaac on the north Cornish coast, sleeping four with one bathroom. Dogs are welcome, and the lodge has its own private garden plus shared access to an acre of grounds around the farm.

Inside, the lodge has wifi, parking, dishwasher and washing machine - the practical essentials for a week's stay. Two bedrooms sleep four across one bathroom; the layout suits two couples or a family with children. Saturday changeover. A highchair is available, and there is a pub or shop within a mile.

Port Gaverne Beach is 700 metres away - a sheltered inlet tucked below the cliffs where the historic lime-trade boats once unloaded. Port Isaac village is within easy walking distance, with its harbour, fish restaurant and the steep streets made familiar by the Doc Martin television series. Port Gaverne is the closest of the beaches listed here, with Tregardock Beach 3.3 miles away. Polzeath beach, the most popular surf beach on the north coast, is 4.5 miles south.

Best for couples or small families with dogs who want a quiet farm setting with the beach and village both within walking distance. Less good for larger groups needing more than one bathroom. Polzeath, with its surf school and wider beach, is 4.5 miles south.
