Upside-down lodge at Tamar Valley Resort, sleeps 6

Running Waters is an upside-down lodge at Tamar Valley Resort in Callington, part of a small cluster beside the valley stream. All three bedrooms are on the ground floor and the open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area is upstairs, opening onto a decked balcony. Two decked terraces have garden furniture, and there is a patio area with garden furniture too.

It sleeps six. One bedroom has a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with a bath and a shower over, two are twins, and there is a separate shower room. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave and a fridge, and there is a 32-inch TV with Freeview, and electric central heating. Bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included, and a cot and highchair are available.

Guests can use the resort's facilities: a heated indoor pool that is open all year apart from Christmas Day, an outdoor summer pool from May to October, weather permitting, a games room, a gym, and a shop and pub with entertainment. The property has 4G but no WiFi of its own; WiFi is available in the restaurant, the pool area, the games room and the bar. Off-road parking is for two cars. There are no charging points on site, and charging from an extension lead is forbidden.

No pets and no smoking. In adverse weather, the flood stop in the wall should be put in place, as the welcome book explains. From April to September and in any half term, Christmas or school holiday, bookings must be at least two nights. The ground-floor bedrooms and shared pool suit families or friends; the upstairs living room makes it less good for anyone wanting to avoid stairs.
