Shrimps

Shrimps is a two-bedroom apartment above the streets of Port Isaac, a working fishing village that doubles as Portwenn in ITV's Doc Martin. It sleeps four across one double and one twin room, sharing a single bathroom, and has sea views from soft pastel interiors with a window seat.

WiFi, parking, a dishwasher, washing machine, patio and barbecue are all included, and the patio suits outdoor dining. Dogs are not accepted here, so this isn't the right booking for anyone travelling with a pet.

Port Gaverne Beach is 600 metres away, a sandy cove that is sheltered and swimmable at low tide. Tregardock Beach is 3.4 miles from the apartment and Polzeath Beach 4 miles. Port Isaac's harbour, independent shops and the South West Coast Path are all within easy walking distance, and Nathan Outlaw's Michelin-starred restaurant is in the village for a special-occasion dinner.

The apartment is on the first floor, reached by an external flight of stairs. Garage parking is for one car, with space for storage and wetsuits, and the double bedroom is the one with sea views.

**Best for:** A family or two couples wanting sea views, a patio, laundry and parking in the centre of Port Isaac.

**Less good for:** Guests travelling with a dog, anyone needing more than one bathroom, or those requiring step-free access.
