Mawgan Porth is 300 metres from the front door - a family-orientated beach with rock pools accessible at low tide and a reliable beach cafe. Bedruthan Steps, managed by the National Trust, is 2.1km north along the coast path. Watergate Bay, a long surfing beach, is 3km south. Both are reachable on foot in under an hour.

Newquay is 6 miles by road, giving access to surf schools, a zoo, and a wider range of restaurants. Padstow is 10 miles in the other direction, well known for its working harbour and fish restaurants around the quay. The A39 Atlantic Highway runs inland from the village, so both Truro and Wadebridge are within 30 minutes.

Best for families or two couples travelling together who want a beach within a 5-minute walk and direct access to one of North Cornwall's most varied stretches of coastline. Less good for couples wanting a smaller, more intimate stay - the house is sized for 8 and priced accordingly.
