Surf View

Surf View is a three-bedroom cottage beside Porthleven harbour for five guests. The king-size room, a double and a single with a narrow 2-foot-6-inch-wide bed share one bathroom, and the living room and front bedrooms look over the harbour and out to sea.

A wood burner, parking, a dishwasher and a garden are included, and dogs are welcome. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice box and washer/dryer. The living room has a corner sofa, and an enclosed paved terrace at the front has seating. A small rear yard is useful for storing beach gear.

Porthleven Beach is 400 metres away, a south-west-facing beach that turns into a powerful winter surf spot for experienced surfers. Porthcew Rinsey Cove, near the old engine houses of Wheal Prosper mine, is 2.4 miles from the cottage, and Praa Sands is 3.4 miles. The harbour itself has become one of Cornwall's food destinations, with Kota Restaurant and Kota Kai a short walk from the door, and the Porthleven guide covers the village's food festival and coast path.

**Best for:** a family wanting three bedrooms, sea views, a wood burner, a garden and room for a dog in Porthleven. **Less good for:** five guests wanting multiple bathrooms, EV drivers or anyone needing step-free access.
