The Buryas Bridge Collection

The Buryas Bridge Collection is a group of five lodges in the hamlet of Buryas Bridge near Penzance, sleeping up to ten across five en-suite units set within subtropical gardens. Each lodge has a private outdoor space with a gas BBQ, open fire, and wood burner. From £1,266 per night for the full collection, that works out around £127 per person - competitive for a property that sleeps ten with sea views.

The five units break down as: Beryas Cottage (sleeps four), Porth Chapel Cabin (sleeps two, adults only), and three shepherd's huts - Poldhu, Pedney, and one further cabin - each sleeping two adults. All five have sea views and private outdoor space. The subtropical planting around the site includes palms and tree ferns that reflect the mild Penwith microclimate.

Mousehole (pronounced "Mowzle") beach is 3.6km. Newlyn harbour, with its fish market and working fleet, is roughly 5 minutes by car. Polgoon Vineyard - one of Cornwall's established wine producers - is a 3-minute drive. The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, open May to September, is under 30 minutes south. Trengwainton Garden is 10 minutes east.

Best for: large groups or multi-family gatherings wanting self-contained units in one location, with dogs, within easy reach of west Cornwall's coast and food scene. Less good for: anyone needing a single large shared living space - the units are separate.
