The Old Coastguard Lookout

The Old Coastguard Lookout is a three-bedroom cottage in Port Isaac, a former coastguard building sleeping six guests. Each bedroom has its own en-suite, giving the group three bathrooms rather than one shared facility.

An open fire is the main indoor feature. WiFi, a dishwasher and a washing machine are included, along with parking, and the ground floor has step-free access; confirm exact measurements with the provider. Pets are not accepted. Changeover day is Thursday, an uncommon slot worth checking before travel is booked.

The enclosed garden gives the cottage private outside space, and Port Gaverne Beach is 400 metres away in a sheltered bay with calm water and rock pools at low tide. Tregardock Beach is 3.3 miles away and has no lifeguard cover, while Polzeath Beach is 4.2 miles from the cottage and is known for reliable left and right-hand surf breaks. Port Isaac's own harbour dates to the 14th century and doubles as the fictional Portwenn in the ITV series Doc Martin.
