The Seahouse

The Seahouse is a 3-bedroom house in Portreath sleeping 6, with a king-size en-suite bedroom, a double bedroom with sea views, and a single bedroom fitted with a pull-out trundle bed. Two bathrooms serve the three rooms. The enclosed garden has outdoor seating, a dishwasher and washing machine are in the kitchen, and a charcoal BBQ is available on the terrace.

The house sits within Portreath village, 800m from the beach. The village has a pub and a small convenience store, with Redruth about 5km inland for larger shops. From the village, the Mineral Tramways trail network gives traffic-free cycling routes to Camborne and beyond - a well-used route for families and leisure cyclists.

Portreath Beach is a west-facing surf beach with a sheltered harbour wall at its northern end, which creates calmer water for paddlers. Porthtowan is 4km along the coast and has a surf school and beach cafe. Godrevy Beach and lighthouse are 7.7km, a longer drive but worth it for the seal colony visible from the headland.

Best for families or two couples who want a sea-view base within walking distance of a surf beach and a pub. The single with trundle bed works for one or two children. Less suited to groups without a car, as the village has limited facilities compared to larger towns.

The nearest large supermarket is in Redruth, about 10 minutes by car.
