The Studio

A converted artist's studio above Rinsey on the cliffs west of Germoe, sleeping four in two bedrooms with two bathrooms. The cottage sits 400m above Porthcew (Rinsey Cove), with sea views west toward Cudden Point and the Penwith headlands. Dogs welcome.

The studio runs across two levels with a ground-floor twin bedroom for guests who can't manage stairs. There's an open fire in the sitting room, dishwasher, washing machine and wifi, and parking is on site. No wood burner, and the path down to the cove is steep with loose granite in places - good shoes essential, especially in wet weather. The garden is enclosed, useful with a dog.

Rinsey is a hamlet on the National Trust headland between Porthleven and Praa Sands, with the restored Wheal Prosper engine house on the cliff edge above the cove. Prussia Cove is 3.5km west along the coast path, Praa Sands is 1.6km east with the Sand Bar pub built into the dunes, and Porthleven harbour with Rick Stein's Cornish Arms is a 10-minute drive east. St Michael's Mount is 4 miles north across the bay. Saturday changeover.

Best for couples or a family of four with a dog wanting cliff-top quiet and a cove on the doorstep. Less good for guests with mobility issues attempting the cove path, or for households needing a wifi-heavy work-from-home setup or a wood burner.
