The View

The View is a one-bedroom apartment for four on The Terrace in Port Isaac, with sea views and an open fire that make the living space the main draw. One bathroom serves the property, and the one-bedroom layout means some of the four guests share sleeping space outside the separate bedroom, so this suits a couple plus two children or close friends rather than two separate couples.

A private garden gives outside space of its own. WiFi, parking and a washing machine are included. The apartment does not accept dogs, and Saturday is the changeover day.

Port Isaac's harbour sits below, reached down narrow lanes lined with slate-hung cottages, in the working fishing village made famous as the filming location for ITV's Doc Martin. Port Gaverne Beach is 200 metres away, a sheltered cove with calm, clear water for swimming and kayaking and rock pools at low tide, reachable in around a 10-minute walk. The coast path runs along the cliffs in both directions from the village. Tregardock Beach is 3.2 miles off, a remote surf beach reached by a steep path, and Polzeath Beach is 4.3 miles away with breaks for every ability. **Best for:** a couple or small group wanting sea views, an open fire and Port Isaac's harbour on foot.

**Less good for:** dog owners, guests needing step-free access, or groups wanting a second bedroom or bathroom.
