Escape with your loved ones at this gorgeous stone home on the edge of Port Isaac village. Sleeping eight across four bedrooms, it suits large families or groups of friends after a bolthole on the North Cornwall coast. Polzeath (6.5 miles) has good surf, and Rock (9 miles) has a ferry across to Padstow and the St Enodoc Golf Course. The sands of Daymer Bay (8 miles) suit swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding, and Boscastle (13 miles) has its Witchcraft Museum.

Private parking leads to the first-floor entrance, where exposed brickwork pairs with honey oak beams. Three first-floor living spaces centre on the wood burner, plus a kitchen area and a dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows. Downstairs are the four bedrooms: the master has a king-size bed, French doors onto the garden, and an en-suite with a rainfall shower and freestanding bath; two further king-size bedrooms and a twin each have en-suite bathrooms with rainfall showers, and a family bathroom completes the ground floor.

Outside, multi-tiered patios and lush lawns look over fields dotted with cows. Relax on the sun loungers, fire up the charcoal BBQ, or gather around the fire pit to toast marshmallows under the stars. The lower lawn is secure for dogs to play, with an outdoor dog shower for muddy paws and a hanging rail for wetsuits.

**Best for:** large family groups or friends travelling with well-behaved dogs, thanks to the secure lower lawn, dog shower and five en-suite bathrooms across four bedrooms. **Less good for:** anyone needing step-free access, since the main living space is upstairs and all four bedrooms are down a flight of stairs.
