Trethwaite

Trethwaite is a split-level four-bedroom cottage in Rock sleeping 8, with a private footpath to Porthilly Beach 50 metres from the house. The sundeck off the dining room has glass balustrades and looks out over the Camel Estuary, connecting directly to a second set of doors from the sun room with its vaulted ceiling.

The 4 bedrooms sleep 8: 1 super-king, 1 small double, and 2 twins (one with zip-and-link beds that convert to a king on request). Three bathrooms serve the group - one en-suite off the twin room, a family shower room, and a family bathroom. Note that the small double, one twin, and the family bathroom involve 5 steps. Bi-folding doors link the dining room to the sundeck, and the open fire in the lounge is the anchor of the living space. Outside, the BBQ, dog-friendly garden, and private parking for 5 cars complete the picture - plus EV charging.

Rock village is a short walk, with the Mariners pub, a handful of cafes, and sailing schools on the waterfront. The water taxi to Padstow runs every 20 minutes and takes under 5 minutes across the estuary. Daymer Bay - a sheltered family beach backed by dunes - is 2.1 miles along the coast path, and Polzeath surf beach is 2.2 miles north.

**Best for:** Groups of 8 or two families wanting estuary views, a beach footstep away, and Padstow on the doorstep; those needing EV charging and dog-friendly space.

**Less good for:** Guests with mobility needs - 5 steps to access some rooms; those wanting a large surf beach on the doorstep (Polzeath is a short drive).
