Valley Lodge 48

Valley Lodge 48 is a detached two-storey lodge in a quiet corner of Honicombe Manor Holiday Resort, near Callington. The bedrooms and both bathrooms are on the ground floor, and the open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area is upstairs, opening onto a decked balcony with rattan seating, a glass table and six chairs. The dining table seats up to eight.

It sleeps six. The double bedroom has an en-suite bath with an electric shower and patio doors to decking with furniture and a hot tub. The two twins share a shower room, and one of them has 2ft 6in beds. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer. Bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included, and a highchair, travel cot and stairgate can be requested. There are books, games and DVDs.

Resort facilities include indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, a gym, a games room, tennis courts, a shop and a pub, a ten-minute walk away. Opening times are seasonal: the outdoor pool is open from mid-May to mid-September, weather permitting, and the tennis courts from Easter until October half term. Pools and gym are booked through reception. Under-16s may not use the gym, and in the pools they must be accompanied by an adult, with no more than two children per adult. No lifeguards are on duty. Off-road parking is for two cars.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, but breeds listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 are not. Smoking is not allowed, and the park does not permit workers or contractors. The property has a private water supply, tested regularly. It suits families or friends with dogs; the stairs to the living area make it less good for anyone who finds stairs difficult.
