Valley View

Valley View is a one-bedroom apartment for two, set in open countryside 1.5 miles from the harbour town of Mevagissey. Guests get shared access to 10 acres of grounds, including around 8 acres of land with a woodland area, and the views from the gates onwards look across the countryside. Everything is on the ground floor.

The bedroom has a king-size bed and its own en-suite with a large double shower, basin and WC; there is no bath at the property. The open-plan living area, which leads through to the bedroom, holds the kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave and a fridge/freezer, and there is a TV with Freeview, a DVD player, WiFi and a selection of books, games and DVDs. Motion-sensor electric heaters keep the rooms warm, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included.

Outside, a gravelled patio and a lawned area come with furniture, and there is off-road parking for 2 cars. Footpaths run all around the grounds, and a walk through the valley leads to Portmellon Cove, where a sandy beach is covered completely at high tide and the Rising Sun pub looks over the bay. From the cove it is about a 20 minute walk on to Mevagissey. The nearest shop and pub are 1.5 miles away.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, but they must not be left alone, and they are not allowed on the furniture or in the bedroom. The apartment takes two adults and no children, apart from a babe in arms, for whom a travel cot is provided. Check-in is on Fridays only, and there is no smoking. It suits couples and dog owners who want room to walk, and is less good for anyone travelling with children.
