2 Rose Cottages

A three-bedroom terraced cottage in Lansallos, 3 miles west of Polperro on Cornwall's south coast. Sleeps 5 across a double, a twin and a single room - the largest of the four-cottage Rose Cottages cluster, and the only one in the row that takes dogs.

The ground floor has a living and dining room with flagstone floors and an electric fire, plus a compact kitchen and a shower-over-bath. WiFi runs throughout and a washing machine is included. There is no dishwasher and only one bathroom for five guests, which can be tight at peak times. An enclosed garden opens off the kitchen and off-road parking is included. All four Rose Cottages can be booked together for parties up to 15.

Lansallos cove sits 0.8 miles away by footpath - a remote National Trust beach with clear water for swimming and snorkelling but no facilities. Lantic Bay is 2.2 miles along the South West Coast Path. Polperro's car-free harbour, working fishing fleet and Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing are 3 miles east; Looe, with its quayside and Looe Island boat trips, is 8 miles further on.

Best for a small family with a dog who want quiet countryside and footpath beach access. Less good for groups wanting more than one bathroom, or anyone wanting harbour walks straight from the door.
