Cobbledicks House

Cobbledicks House is a Grade II-listed 17th-century stone farmhouse for eight near Callington, a market town at the foot of Kit Hill close to the Devon border. Four bedrooms comprise one super-king-size zip-and-link that can become a twin, two king-size rooms and one twin, served by three bathrooms, a good ratio for the eight-person capacity.

Vaulted ceilings, quarry-tiled floors and exposed stone beams sit alongside a wood burner and open fire. Two lounges provide separate seating areas, useful for a group wanting to split into quieter and louder ends of the house. Outside, an enclosed garden accompanies a courtyard with dining furniture and a fire pit. Wi-Fi, parking and a washing machine are included, though there is no dishwasher, and dogs are accepted.

Downderry Beach is 8.9 miles away, Plaidy Beach is 10.1 miles and Whitsand Bay is 10.3 miles, so this is more a countryside base than a walk-to-the-beach one. Looe lies about 12 miles from the farmhouse, while the Eden Project is around 45 minutes by car and Kit Hill, with its 360-degree views across Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, rises directly above the town.
