Dartmoor View

Dartmoor View is a detached house on Honicombe Manor Holiday Park at St Ann's Chapel, near the Cornish village of Callington, looking over meadows and the Tamar Valley towards the hills of Dartmoor. It backs onto meadows and woodland, and has been refurbished with a remodelled kitchen and bathrooms.

Four bedrooms sleep nine. A double and a twin bedroom on the ground floor share a ground-floor shower room. Upstairs are a further double and a triple room with a single bed and two children's single beds, next to the family bathroom, which has a bath with a shower over. The open plan living area has patio doors to the garden, and a central dining area sits beside the kitchen, which has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge freezer, a washing machine and a slimline dishwasher. There is a TV with Freeview, a DVD player and Wi-Fi, and central heating is electric. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included, and a cot and highchair are available. The water comes from a private supply that is tested regularly.

Guests can use the park's two swimming pools, a heated indoor pool and an outdoor pool open from mid May to mid September, weather permitting, plus a gym, tennis courts, a children's play area, an on-site shop and a pub and restaurant. Facilities may have seasonal opening times, and the tennis courts open from Easter until October half term. Under-16s cannot use the gym. The house has a private patio and lawn garden with furniture. Parking is roadside within the park, outside the house, space permitting, rather than allocated.

One well-behaved dog is welcome, though breeds listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 are not permitted. Holiday park rules prevent workers and contractors staying on site. Days out include Looe, Whitsand Bay, Cotehele and the train ride from Gunnislake to Plymouth. With two bedrooms on the ground floor and a triple room built around small children's beds, it suits a large family or a group of friends, and it is ideal for a party that includes young children.
