Valley Lodge 61

Valley Lodge 61 is a detached lodge in Tamar Valley Resort, part of the Honicombe lodges at Callington. It works over two floors: the four bedrooms are on the ground floor, and the kitchen/dining area and sitting room are on the first floor, opening to a private balcony. It sleeps eight.

The bedrooms are two doubles and two twins, one of them with 2'6 beds. One double has doors to a terrace, a TV and a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with a bath and shower over. A ground-floor shower room has a walk-in shower. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, and a cot, highchair and stair gate are available. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included.

Access is by 11 steps and a path up to the entrance, with limited parking for two cars. To avoid the steps, guests can drop off in the car park above and walk down a steep path of about 100 metres. This is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Resort facilities include heated indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, a bar, a shop and a basic games room. Tennis courts are open from Easter until October half term, the outdoor pool from mid May to mid September (weather dependent), and the pools and gym are booked once on site through reception. Under-16s cannot use the gym, and in the pools they must be accompanied by an adult, with two children at most per adult; there are no lifeguards. Workers and contractors cannot stay. The water supply is private and tested regularly.

Two well-behaved pets are welcome and smoking is not allowed. It suits families and groups who can manage the steps, and is less good for anyone who cannot.
