Dobwalls sits roughly midway between Liskeard and Bodmin, giving car-based guests access to a wide range of day trips. East Looe Beach is 7.5 miles south - a long sandy beach within a working harbour town with independent shops and cafes. Plaidy Beach, a quieter neighbour, is 7.2 miles. The Looe Valley Line, a rural branch railway from Liskeard to Looe, runs close by and is one of the more scenic short train journeys in Cornwall.

Golitha Falls, a National Nature Reserve on the River Fowey at the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, is around 5 miles north. The Adrenalin Quarry activity centre, with zip wire and bungee experiences, is 0.6 miles from the cottage. Liskeard has a supermarket for stocking up on arrival.

This cottage is ideal for couples wanting a quiet rural base within driving range of both coast and moor. Guests who need step-free access should check with the owner before booking. Not great for guests wanting to walk to beaches, as the nearest is a 20-minute drive. The cottage is not suitable for infants and children.
