Curlew Lodge

Curlew Lodge is a two-bedroom cottage in the Pentire area of Newquay, sleeping 4, set in a quiet residential close about 600 metres from Fistral Beach - the UK's best-known surf beach, where national and international competitions run throughout the year.

Inside, the ground floor has a twin bedroom with en-suite basin and WC, plus a walk-in shower room. Upstairs, a double bedroom serves the second bathroom. The sitting room has an open fire - useful year-round given the Atlantic-facing position - and the kitchen-diner has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, and washing machine. WiFi and Smart TV are included. Gas central heating covers the whole cottage.

The private front patio with picnic table serves as outdoor space, and off-road parking takes one car. Fistral Beach is a 10-minute walk. Towan Beach - Newquay's town beach below Killacourt green - is 1.2 miles away, and Crantock Beach across the Gannel estuary is 1.6 miles distant. Newquay town centre, with its shops and restaurants, is walkable.

Best for: couples or small families wanting easy Fistral surf access with a proper sitting room and open fire for evenings. Less good for: larger groups needing more than 2 bedrooms, or those requiring sea views or a hot tub. Note: five steps lead up to the entrance - not suitable for guests with limited mobility.
