Hawthorn Cottage sits on Vose Farm outside Tregony, a village at the head of the Fal estuary in south Cornwall. Pentewan Beach, a longer stretch with a holiday park and toilets, is 5.9km. Hemmick Beach, reached via a narrow lane with limited parking, is 6.9km and suits those prepared to walk in. Mevagissey harbour village, with its working fishing fleet and several fish-and-chip options, is roughly a 15-minute drive south. Truro, the county's only city, is under 10 miles north for larger shops and the Royal Cornwall Museum.

Best for three-generation family groups or anyone needing ground-floor sleeping access for a mobility-impaired guest. Less good for couples seeking a compact retreat - three bedrooms and a working farm feel suits larger groups.
