Higher Merrose

Higher Merrose is a barn conversion cottage for four near St Agnes, one of two similar conversions set on a 130-acre working farm with cows. Vaulted ceilings and exposed beams keep the original barn structure visible throughout, and two bathrooms give a family or group of friends useful privacy alongside the king-size and twin bedrooms.

The kitchen has a dishwasher, and the garden and barbecue give the group somewhere to eat outside. A washer/dryer is in the kitchen. The kitchen has an oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer, and a pod coffee machine. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite. Up to two dogs can stay, with farm activity and field boundaries worth checking with the provider before arrival.

Portreath Beach is 1.4 miles from the barn, with Godrevy Beach a 4.7-mile drive and Gwithian Towans about 5 miles. A network of footpaths leads from the farm towards Tehidy, and St Agnes itself, with its former mining village character and the Wheal Coates engine house above Chapel Porth, is within reach for a day out.

**Best for:** families or groups wanting a rural farm setting, two bathrooms, parking and space for two dogs.

**Less good for:** EV drivers, or anyone without their own transport, given the beaches are a drive rather than a walk.
