Little Cottage and Love Shack

Little Cottage and Love Shack is a 15th-century fisherman's cottage at Praa Sands, redesigned by architect Alex Michaelis to maximise sea views from every living space. The property includes The Love Shack - a self-contained annexe with king-size bed, shower room, kitchenette, and its own coastal views - bringing the total to five bedrooms sleeping 12.

Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the open-plan living area with light and frame the beach below. A wood burner and open fire warm the main rooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. Four bedrooms have king-size beds with sea views, and a ground-floor family room has two sets of bunk beds. Six bathrooms serve the property, five of them en-suite, plus a separate cloakroom.

The garden separates the house from the sand, with a large patio, seating area, and fire pit leading to direct beach access at the bottom of the lawn. A hot tub sits to the side of the house overlooking the coast. Dogs are welcome. Off-road parking is available.

Praa Sands beach - a mile-long surf break with lifeguards in summer - is 500 metres away on foot. Porthcew at Rinsey Cove, a National Trust beach with visible mining heritage, is 0.8 miles along the coast path. Marazion and St Michael's Mount are about 15 minutes east by car, and Porthleven's harbour restaurants are a similar distance west.

Best for large groups or multi-generational families, since the five bedrooms and six bathrooms across the main cottage and Love Shack annexe give everyone their own space. Less good for a small couple's getaway, as the property is set up for up to 12 guests rather than an intimate stay.
