Little Landlake

Little Landlake is a two-bedroom historic cottage for four near Launceston, Cornwall's former county town on the Devon border. One room has a king-size bed, while the twin uses two-foot-six zip-and-link beds that can form a king on request at the time of booking. One bathroom serves both bedrooms.

Architectural features run through the cottage, and the rural setting brings regular wildlife to the surrounding fields. A wood burner, garden and barbecue give places to gather outside, and Wi-Fi, parking, a dishwasher and washing machine are included. One dog can stay. Both bedrooms are on the first floor, reached by stairs from the open-plan living area.

Launceston's Norman castle and its round keep sit on the hilltop above the town, with views across the Tamar Valley and Bodmin Moor, and St Mary Magdalene Church is known for its heavily carved granite exterior. The coast is a genuine drive from here: Millook Beach is 14.3 miles away, Crackington Haven is 14.6 miles away and Widemouth Bay is 14.8 miles from the cottage, all on the north coast beyond Bude.

**Best for:** four guests wanting flexible king or twin beds, historic character, a wood burner and a spacious open-plan living area. **Less good for:** multiple bathrooms or beaches within easy reach. Guests who need step-free access should check with the owner before booking.
