Rainbows End is a 2-bedroom cottage in Launceston town centre, sleeping 4 across 2 bathrooms. The enclosed garden and rear parking set it apart from most central-town lets, and the practical fixtures - dishwasher, washing machine, and wifi - cover most domestic needs. Shops and pubs are within easy walking distance of the front door.

Launceston is Cornwall's historic county town, set on a ridge above the Tamar valley. The Norman motte-and-bailey castle dates from around 1070 and offers views across Dartmoor on clear days. The South Gate - one of the few surviving medieval gateways in Cornwall - stands at the top of the main street. Launceston Steam Railway runs a narrow-gauge line through the Kensey Valley from spring to autumn. The town has a weekly market and a range of independent cafes and restaurants, making it practical for a longer stay without relying on a car.

Millook Beach on the north Cornish coast is 20.7km, Widemouth Bay 21.2km, and Crackington Haven 21.8km - all roughly 25 to 30 minutes by road. Bodmin Moor begins within 10 minutes to the west. The Tamar Valley AONB stretches south, with river walks and former mining villages.

This cottage suits couples or small families who want a base for inland Cornwall and Dartmoor crossings, or who prefer a town-centre location with easy parking. It is less good for guests whose main goal is beach access - the nearest coast is 20km, so daily coastal trips add up. No pets are accepted, and there is no hot tub.

Launceston gives access to both Devon and Cornwall without committing to either coast.
