Swallows Nest

Swallows Nest is a two-bedroom barn conversion set in the hamlet of Canworthy Water, a rural location near Launceston in northeast Cornwall. It sleeps four across two floors, with an en-suite bathroom in each bedroom. One double bedroom is on the ground floor and the other is on the first floor, and stone steps lead down to the garden, so young children need supervising there. No dogs accepted.

The enclosed lawned garden has a patio and BBQ, suited to warm-weather evenings. Millook Beach, a narrow shingle cove at the base of dramatic cliffs on the north Cornish coast, is 5.5 miles away. Crackington Haven Beach is 6 miles - a wider sandy cove popular with surfers. Widemouth Bay near Bude is 6.3 miles if you want a long flat beach at low tide.

Launceston is some 10 miles to the southeast, Cornwall's medieval walled town with a Norman castle and weekly market. The nearest pub is 5.1 miles away and the nearest shop 6.3 miles, so stock up before you arrive. Bodmin Moor is accessible to the south for walking and cycling. The property includes a dishwasher, washing machine, and Wi-Fi. Friday changeover.

This property is a good fit for two couples or a family who want a rural north Cornwall base, without the premium pricing of beachside villages. It suits those combining coast days with Dartmoor or Bodmin Moor walking, or who want to explore the north coast from an inland base. Less good for dog owners, anyone needing beachside access, or groups expecting a coastal setting - Canworthy Water is farmland, not coastal.
