Porthleven Beach is 500m from the door - a long arc of sand and shingle that faces southwest and receives some of Cornwall's most powerful Atlantic swells in winter. The working harbour directly behind the beach has several restaurants along the quay serving fresh fish, and the village has a good range of shops and a weekly market.

Rinsey Cove is 2.4 miles to the east - a smaller National Trust beach with a ruined engine house on the cliff above. Praa Sands is 3.5 miles, a popular 2-mile stretch backed by dunes.

Works for larger groups or two families wanting a village location with 3 bathrooms, walking distance to the beach and harbour, and enough indoor space for 8 guests. Not great for those needing dog-friendly access or a rural feel.
