Sea-view cottage above Port Isaac with wood burner and open fire

Seawynds is a five-bedroom detached cottage in Trelights, a small hamlet in the hills above Port Isaac, sleeping 10 across three king-size bedrooms, one super-king, and one twin - each with its own en-suite. At 6 bathrooms for 10 guests, the layout works well for mixed family groups. Parking is provided for 4 cars, and the property lists on both Cornwall Hideaways and Rural Retreats.

The ground floor has a conservatory dining area for 10 with garden and sea views, a sitting room with wood-burning stove and open fire, and a kitchen with dishwasher and breakfast bar. The rear garden and patio face the sea, and there is a BBQ for outdoor cooking. The upper floor has a large shared landing seating area and the super-king bedroom with separate countryside and sea views.

Port Gaverne Beach - a sheltered cove good for kayaking, snorkelling, and rock pooling - is about 1.9 miles from the cottage. Port Isaac itself, where the ITV series Doc Martin was filmed and the Fisherman's Friends perform on the harbour Platt, is roughly the same distance. Polzeath Beach with its surf break is around 5.5 miles by road. The coast path above Port Quin, the largely abandoned hamlet visible from the garden, gives direct access to the cliff scenery in both directions.

**Best for:** Large family groups or friend groups of 8-10 who want a well-spread layout with no bathroom queues, genuine sea views from the garden, and easy access to the Doc Martin filming locations and north Cornwall surf.

**Less good for:** Those wanting a hot tub or pool - neither is available. The Trelights location is rural and quiet; an evening in Port Isaac requires a car.
