The Cobbles

The Cobbles is an 18th-century whitewashed fisherman's cottage on a pedestrianised lane in Polperro, sleeping four across a super-king master bedroom and a twin. Views of the harbour mouth reach into most rooms - the kitchen diner, the first-floor sitting room, and the terrace behind the cottage all look out across the water. It appeared on ITV1's Holiday Home Sweet Home and has 62 guest reviews averaging 9.3 out of 10.

Inside, the ground-floor kitchen and dining area has a slate floor, underfloor heating, modern wood units, and a window seat facing the harbour. A timber staircase rises to the first-floor living room with oak flooring, a wood burner, and a second window seat with sea views. The second floor holds both bedrooms and a family bathroom. Wi-Fi, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and accessible features are all included. Dogs are welcome.

Steps at the rear of the cottage climb to a small south-facing terrace with a panoramic view over the harbour, village, and sea beyond. Polperro beach lies immediately below, and the South West Coast Path passes through the village for coast walks east towards Looe or west to Talland Bay.

Polperro village is compact and largely car-free in summer - the cottage is within a short walk of the harbour pubs, fish restaurants, and the open-air model village. Best for couples or small families who want to be inside a working Cornish fishing village rather than on the edge of one. The lanes are steep and the cottage has three storeys, so less good for those with significant mobility limitations.
