The Larches

The Larches is a 2-bedroom cottage at Presingoll Barns on the edge of St Agnes, sleeping 4 with 1 bathroom. The position gives sea views across Cornwall's north coast, and dogs are welcome.

Inside, a wood burner anchors the living space - useful given St Agnes's exposed north-coast setting. The kitchen has a dishwasher, and parking and Wi-Fi are included. Outside, a garden with a BBQ and decked seating makes use of the sea views. The cottage is part of a small converted barn development set on the outskirts of the village rather than in the centre.

Trevaunance Cove - St Agnes's own beach with a surf break, remnant harbour walls, and RNLI cover in summer - is about 1.2 miles downhill. Wheal Coates engine house, one of the most-photographed tin mine ruins in Cornwall, sits on the cliff above Chapel Porth and is a short walk south along the coast path. Perranporth's 3-mile surf beach is about 4 miles north. The South West Coast Path connects both directions from the village, with some of the best coastal walking on the north coast within easy reach.

Best for: couples or small families with a dog who want a quiet north-coast base with coast path access and a real fire for shoulder-season breaks. Less good for: those after a beach that's a flat, short walk - Trevaunance Cove involves a steep descent.
