Porthleven is the closest coastal town, a short drive to the southwest. It has a harbour, a range of independent restaurants, and a beach with a shingle and sand mix that faces the full force of Atlantic groundswells in winter. Helston, a short drive northeast, has shops, the annual Furry Dance on 8 May, and the Flambards visitor attraction.

The Lizard begins a few miles to the south. From Tregadjack, Gunwalloe Church Cove is around 6 miles, Mullion Cove roughly 8 miles, and Kynance Cove about 10 miles. All three are National Trust-managed coastal sites - Gunwalloe is quiet and dune-backed, Mullion has a working fishing harbour, and Kynance has the more dramatic rock formations. Porthleven Beach is the nearest beach at 5.5km.
