Porthleven Beach is 5.3km south - a working harbour with a surf break, fish restaurants along the quay, and a well-regarded independent food scene. Praa Sands is 8.3km, a long, flat sandy beach popular with families and body-boarders. Porthcew Rinsey Cove is 7.4km for a more secluded option.

The Loe Pool nature reserve is within 3 miles - Cornwall's largest natural freshwater lake, managed by the National Trust, with circular walking routes through the valley. Helston itself is a market town with a Tesco and independent shops, and hosts the Flora Dance in May. No dogs. Dishwasher and washing machine included.
