Trewartha

Porthleven harbour is a similar distance south, with several independent restaurants along the waterfront. The area around Praa Sands and Helston is quieter than the north coast, with less summer traffic and more space on the beach outside August.

**Best for:** Families or groups of 8 wanting a south coast surf beach under 15 minutes on foot, with space to spread out and bring a dog; those after a quieter alternative to the Newquay coast with Penzance's amenities close by.

**Less good for:** Guests needing proximity to shops or a village centre - Praa Sands is a small settlement; those expecting a wood burner (the property has an open fire).
