Pol Haven

Pol Haven is a whitewashed fisherman's cottage in the centre of Polperro, steps from the harbour wall. Arranged over three floors across three bedrooms and two bathrooms, the rooms are sized in the original cottage proportions - compact and characterful rather than generous. A roof terrace at the top gives an unusual outlook over the village and down to the harbour. It has been rated 8.5 out of 10 across 44 guest reviews.

Inside, stone walls and open fireplaces sit alongside modern fittings including Wi-Fi, a dishwasher and a washing machine. The multi-storey layout means internal stairs between every floor, typical of Polperro's older houses. Dogs are welcome. The neighbouring pub is within a few paces.

Polperro's centre is closed to most vehicles during the day, so guests park at the main car park and walk down the lane. The result is an unusually quiet setting for a property this central - no traffic noise, just the harbour. The village has a cluster of small restaurants serving local fish and produce, along with the Blue Peter Inn on the quayside. The South West Coast Path connects Polperro to Talland Bay and Looe on foot, and Fowey is a short drive west.

Best for groups of three to six wanting a central Polperro cottage with genuine character. Less good for guests who struggle with steep internal stairs or need a dedicated car park outside the front door.
