Set in Cornwall's coastal countryside, this former apple store is a base for groups of up to 12. Crantock, Holywell, Polly Joke and Porth beaches are all close by, and Newquay is 4 miles away for Fistral Beach and a wide choice of restaurants. Padstow is 15 miles, Truro 10 miles for shopping and the Hall for Cornwall, and the National Trust's Trerice is a mile away. The Eden Project is 19 miles from home.

Set within the Tresillian Estate, this reverse-level house has been designed for group gatherings. The first floor holds an open-plan living area with vaulted ceilings, painted stone walls and warm wooden floors, plus a large dining table and a well-equipped kitchen. Six bedrooms sleep 12: two doubles and a twin (the twin is accessed via one of the doubles, good for families with younger children) sit off the main living space, while a twin, a king and a super-king-size room are downstairs.

Set across the courtyard from the main house, the property has its own private garden and a sheltered decking area for BBQs and lazy afternoons in the sun. Younger guests can run off steam on the lawn or play tennis on the shared court, and ample private parking is provided.

Best for large groups or multi-generational families needing space to spread out, with 6 bedrooms, a private garden and a shared tennis court. Less good for guests wanting a hot tub or pool on site, since neither is part of the property's amenities.
